$450.00

2:00 PM-5:00 PM

This workshop is both for beginners and advance students. In this workshop students will learn how to paint the effects of light using color. Students will learn the importance of having a strong start using simple color masses which is the foundation of painting the effects of light.

The first two day’s students will paint outdoors from simple colored blocks and round objects on a tabletop which is the foundation of seeing color relationships; painting one color note next to the another.

Day three students will take what they learned from painting the colored blocks and apply it to painting a building in the landscape.

The fourth and fifth day students will paint the landscape of Provincetown, all with the emphasis on using color to express the light effect in nature. Scott will begin each class with a demonstration along with individual instruction.

Students will take from this workshop a new way of seeing that will improve their painting skills En Plein Air or in the studio.

Students are encouraged to paint with a palette knife that allows for cleaner color and a focus on painting a strong start as appose to details.

Students may register using the Cape School Pay Pal account. For further information call the Registrar at 617-717-9568.
