Sweetwater is a painter and mixed media artist known for her luminous use of color and her ability to weave together the energy of nature with the human spirit. Her passion for painting began early and deepened through formal study at The Art Institute of Chicago. Later, her experience at The Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA, introduced her to the challenges and joys of plein air painting, sharpening her eye for light and atmosphere. Inspired by artists such as Wolf Kahn, Larry Horowitz and Mary Giamarrino, Sweetwater has embraced oils while expanding into acrylics and pastels creating works that balance abstraction with landscape. She finds continual inspiration within her community of artists at Metro Art Studios in Bridgeport, CT, where collaboration and creativity fuel her practice. At the heart of her work is a desire to capture and express the harmony between man and nature, inviting viewers into moments of reflection and beauty.
